With six days until the primary, the political voice of Greater Boston’s Chinese community backs Markey
BOSTON, Mass. – Today, the Chinese Progressive Political Action endorsed Ed Markey for re-election to the Senate, citing his record of fighting alongside immigrant families, working people, and communities confronting rising housing costs.
For more than a decade, CPPA has built the collective political power of Greater Boston’s Chinese community through voter organizing in Boston, Malden, and Quincy. Its members – including home care workers, rideshare drivers, and restaurant workers – have organized for fully bilingual ballots, affordable housing, good-paying jobs, immigrant rights, and strong, stable communities.
“Our community trusts Ed Markey because he doesn’t just show up for a photograph — he shows up for the fight, backed by years of experience, real knowledge, and the skills that deliver actual results and change,” said Irene Jor, Executive Director of Chinese Progressive Political Action. “Senator Ed Markey has always stood with immigrant families against ICE raids, fought for home care and domestic workers, and defended language access at the ballot box. He has taken on the housing crisis that is pricing families out of the communities they built. He listens to our community, understands what’s at stake, and turns those concerns into action. That’s why our members are knocking doors and organizing voters across Boston, Malden, and Quincy to send Ed Markey back to the Senate.”
