We’re over the moon to return to Bedford Falls this holiday season as Colonial Chorus Players presents ‘It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play,’ adapted by Joe Landry. With its themes of community, kindness, sacrifice, and hope, the story of idealistic George Bailey is brought to life on the stage as a 1940s radio broadcast complete with sound effects, old-fashioned commercials, and a live studio audience. https://www.ticketstage.com/T/CCP.

Suburban Holiday 12

The Quannapowitt Players are proud to present the 12th Annual “Suburban Holidays” from December 1-9! Suburban Holidays is a series of short, holiday-themed plays, many by local playwrights. This year’s set of plays is sure to delight.

Reading Education Foundation Festival of Trees

Kick off your holiday season on Saturday and Sunday, December 2nd and 3rd, by visiting Reading Education Foundation’s (REF) 21st annual Festival of Trees, a winter wonderland of decorated holiday trees donated by local families, organizations, businesses, and schools that festival visitors can win for themselves! This signature REF fundraising event, held at Reading’s Parker Middle School, is a magical and memorable community holiday tradition for adults and children of all ages. Fun can be had by all while raising money that REF provides to the schools through teacher-initiated grants.

Tickets: Family $10, $5 Individual. Tree raffle tickets sold on-site

Matt Tavares presenting his new book, “Dasher Can’t Wait for Christmas

Location: Whitelam Books 610 Main Street

Whitelam Books is delighted to welcome New York Times best-selling author-illustrator Matt Tavares to share his new book “Dasher Can’t Wait for Christmas” on Saturday, December 2nd at 3:00 pm. Matt will be reading the newly released book, which is a sequel to his best-selling “Dasher,” answering questions, and signing copies. Whitelam Books is located in downtown Reading at 610 Main Street, near the intersection of Haven Street and Main Street. Books will be available for purchase and signing. This event is free and open to the public – all are welcome!

Reading Community Concert Band Holiday Concert

A concert featuring new arrangements and traditional holiday favorites.

Reading Garden Club Memory Tree Lighting Celebration

Sunday, December 3, 4 pm

Location: Reading Public Library, 64 Middlesex Avenue

Since 2002, the Memory Tree Lighting Celebration, sponsored by the Reading Garden Club, has become a highly anticipated part of Reading’s holiday season. This event gives people the opportunity to commemorate an individual (family member, friend, neighbor, or group) or to celebrate an event (a birthday, anniversary, or special occasion) by purchasing one or more “lights” to decorate the Memory Tree. The public is invited to participate in and attend this brief commemorative Celebration.
