Reading Common Tree Lighting

Reading Town Tree Lighting Day

READING, MA — The 30th Annual Tree Lighting celebration hosted by The Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce was held this past Sunday on Reading Common. This annual community event brings together local restaurants, retail businesses, and community groups for a fun-filled, family-friendly afternoon.

Creative Arts performed “A Christmas Carol” in the sanctuary First Congregational Church of Reading. Reading Community Singers sang carols on the lawn near the Nativity Photo Booth at Old South Church, providing a festive atmosphere. Both churches served hot cocoa to the crowd and activities for kids.

The Reading Memorial High School band and color guard performed on the common, and Santa arrived by fire truck to turn on the lights.

The Second Annual Community Menorah Lighting will take place on Sunday, December 10, at 4:30 PM.
