More than 500 personal care items collected ahead of the initiative’s October 28 launch
Reading, MA — The call went out for donations of personal care items for the Little Essentials Library cart, and Reading, you delivered!
We received more than 500 travel-sized shampoos, conditioners, body washes, toothpastes, dental floss, and more! We received deodorant, tissues, shaving items, skincare, and beauty products. We’d also like to recognize and thank Owen Leonard, a senior at Reading Memorial High School, who personally organized a drive for the high school community, bringing in more than 100 items.
Now, we’re creating an inventory and organizing storage in preparation for our launch. The Little Essentials Library will be located in the Health Nook on the main floor of the Reading Public Library. Thanks to your generosity, we plan to launch the initiative on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.
Follow our social media and newsletter for updates on future donation drives, and in the meantime, the Reading Public Library Foundation will support the Little Essentials Library’s stock.
Thank you so much for your donations and support!
