“Discover the Arts in Reading” on October 13th from 10 AM-2 PM on the Reading town common! Presented by Arts Reading, this event focuses on arts and culture in Reading. Visit a booth and find out what they are all about and what events they have planned. Perhaps what they do would be of interest to you and/or your family. Ask how to get involved!!!
Arts and cultural groups that will be participating that day are Beat Heart Foundation, Reading Community Singers, Creative Arts, Quannapowitt Players, Reading Public Library, Colonial Chorus Players, Reading Symphony Orchestra, RCTV/Reading 375, and the Reading Historical Commission. Entertainment will be provided by CBTween, Teal Street Jazz Quartet, Creative Arts, and Linen and Lace Historical Irish Music.
Arts Reading was formed in 2014 with two goals: gather the arts and cultural groups in town under its umbrella to advocate for the arts and lead the effort in creating a cultural district in downtown. We have a lot of work to do to accomplish the latter and welcome new members and new ideas. We have a website, www.artsreading.org with a calendar listing many of the cultural events in town. And we have a Facebook page, www.facebook.com/ArtsReadingMA.
