August 6, 1946 — April 26, 2026

Cynthia R. (Dunne) Boudreau, 79, a lifelong resident of Reading, passed away peacefully after a brief and unexpected illness on Sunday, April 26th, 2026, with her family by her side.
Born on August 6, 1946, Cindy was a beautiful wife, mother, Mimi, and a friend to all.
Cindy was kind, thoughtful, and sweet. She adored her husband, Donald, her high school sweetheart. Together for 63 years and married for 58, they built a beautiful life and love story that became the foundation of their family. They enjoyed the simple moments in life together, and they were a reminder of how beautiful lifelong love can be. She treasured being the mom to her “5 J’s” John, Jennifer, Julie, Jacqui & Jeff, raising them in their loving home on Indian Tree Lane, where together they created endless memories. Her family meant everything to her, and she meant everything to them.
Her greatest joy was being “Mimi” to her ten grandchildren, Cindy and Donald’s proud legacy. She was the fun, silly, cool Mimi who made each of them feel like they were her favorite. She never missed a game, special event, birthday, milestone, or chance to catch up. She had a gift for making life extra special, from jingle bells on Christmas Eve to bunny cakes on Easter and everything in between, she brought so much fun, love and laughter to every family gathering. Nothing made her happier than talking about her grandchildren, celebrating their accomplishments, going out for a peppermint stick ice cream, hearing about their lives, and making memories with them every chance she could.
She spent the last 20 years working as a paraeducator at RISE Preschool in Reading, where she loved working with children and forming many lasting friendships. She always thought of others first, whether it was checking in, remembering the little things, or showing up with her warm, beautiful smile.
Cindy was as cute as a button, and if you knew her, you loved her. She had a wonderful sense of style, and her bright smile and warm brown eyes made her sparkle. She loved her flowerpots & gardens and had a way of making everything look sweet, festive, and welcoming. She loved listening to her favorite music and singing along sweetly with her pretty voice and often liked to think she could have been a country singer. Holidays were her favorite. She was the best gift giver, forever thoughtful and turned her home into something warm and memorable.
She loved her friends, old and new, and rarely missed an opportunity to meet for lunch or dinner. With too many friends to mention, she truly treasured them all, especially her forever lifelong friends. She remembered everyone she ever met and was someone people were always happy to see. Cindy loved running into people she knew around town and always took a moment to say hello with a smile.
Cynthia is the beloved wife of Donald Boudreau, she is the cherished mother of John Boudreau and his wife Kristine, Jennifer Sacco and her husband Paul, Julie Wilson and her husband Keith, Jacqui Moynihan and her husband James, and Jeffrey Boudreau. She is the loving Mimi of Cameron, Gabriella, and Sabrina Sacco; Natalie, Nicole Cynthia, and Craig Wilson; and Michael, Ethan, Quinn, and Annie Moynihan. She was also the Sister-in-law to Deborah Lemieux, Gerard and Karen Boudreau and an aunt to Malyssa, Marty & Luke. She is the daughter of the late John & Roberta “Gigi” Dunne, and dear sister of the late Marjorie Dunne.
A private family service will take place on Friday, May 1st at Cota Barile Funeral Home followed by a burial at the Wood End Cemetery in Reading, MA.
A Celebration of Life for Cindy will take place on Saturday, May 30th, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Danvers Port Yacht Club. All who knew and loved Cindy are welcome, and her family hopes you will join us in sharing memories, laughter, and love in her honor.
She was simply the best. In loving memory of Cindy, we would love for you to reach out to a friend for a lunch date, buy that beautiful hanging plant, or consider making a donation to the Reading Food Pantry by visiting https://www.readingfoodpantry.org/donate
