September 25, 1939 – April 26, 2026

Silvio Giangregorio, age 86, of Reading, formerly of Lynn, passed away peacefully at home on April 26, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Silvio was born on September 25, 1939 to the late Raffaele and Pasqualina (Coviello) Giangregorio, in Apice, Italy.
Silvio came to the United States at the age of 16 with his parents in search of a better life and greater opportunities. At age 22, he met the love of his life, Cathy, and together they built a beautiful family and shared 62 wonderful years of marriage.
Silvio was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He spent 41 years working at SkyChef, a catering company, where he was admired by many. He truly loved going to work and enjoyed talking with the flight attendants and his co-workers, creating friendships that lasted for years.
Outside of work, Silvio was an avid Boston sports fan. He loved watching his children play sports and always attended all of their games. He found great joy in family life. His happiest moments were often spent surrounded by family and friends, cheering on his children and later enjoying the company of his grandchildren.
He will be remembered most for his kindness, warm heart, and willingness to help anyone in need. Silvio’s gentle spirit, hardworking nature, and devotion to his family left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Silvio is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine (DeFilippo) Giangregorio; his children, Anthony Giangregorio, Rocco Giangregorio and his wife Cindy, Joseph Giangregorio and his wife Heather, and Teresa Raithel and her husband Philip; his cherished grandchildren, Samantha Giangregorio, Rachel Giangregorio, Erica Giangregorio, Gina Giangregorio, Alyssa Raithel, Michael Raithel, Stella Giangregorio, and Ty Giangregorio; his brother Carmine Giangregorio and his wife Anita, and his many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Antonio Giangregorio and his wife Maria, and Lorenzo Giangregorio and his wife Joanne.
He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of his family and friends.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 9:30AM from the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt 129), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Lynn at 10:30AM. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Friday, May 1, 2026 from 4-8PM.
