Jean Marie Cohen, 90, of St Louis, MO, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026.
Born on March 23, 1936, in Reading, MA, Jean was the daughter of the late Walter Earley Sr. and May Earley (Ingalls) and kid sister to Walter Earley, Jr.
Jean began her varied and exciting career in publishing at Houghton Mifflin, followed by jet setting as a flight attendant with TWA during the heyday of air travel. She had the opportunity to travel internationally, thoughtfully caring for celebrities, politicians, and regular folks – always with a smile and a “can do” attitude. In later years, she served as a valued secretary/administrative assistant for an executive search firm (Kincannon & Reed), a truck leasing company (Gelco), and a travel/time share company (RCI).
Above all, Jean’s greatest joy was her family. Her first love was her husband, John K. Cohen, with whom she shared a beautiful life (nearly 45 years) filled with fun, many laughs, hard work, and lasting memories. John preceded her in death in 2006.
She is survived by her loving children, Stephanie Renner (Andreas), John L. Cohen, and Jenny Testa (John), and her four grandchildren, Jimmy Cohen, Marissa Cohen, Leonardo Testa, and Anthony Testa.
Jean will be remembered as a devoted wife, an extraordinary mother, a proud grandmother, and an all-around fun (and funny!) person. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave her family and the many lives she touched.
A viewing will be held at Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Schrader Funeral Home at 14960 Manchester Road, Ballwin, MO beginning at 8:00 AM, with chapel service onsite at 10:00 AM, and burial afterwards at Bellerive Gardens Cemetery in Creve Coeur, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family would just like you to think nice thoughts and be kind to each other (as she taught us!)
