Reading, MA — It’s countdown time to the Reading Lions Club’s Reading Friends and Family Day! Where else can you listen to great music and the boom of fireworks, race remote-controlled cars and practice some axe throwing, tour Town trucks and visit a petting zoo? It’s all here and it’s free, at the 18th Reading Friends and Family Day on Saturday, June 10, 2023. All events take place in the Birch Meadow Fields and Reading Memorial High School area.
Since 2004, The Reading Lions Club has sponsored and organized Reading Friends and Family Day, also known as Town Day. This has now become a true community event as many groups have stepped up to both participate and become major sponsors.
Check out the booth and activity area for remote-controlled race cars, miniature golf, cone games, photo booth, and new this year an inflatable axe throwing game! Other activities include plants for kids, arts and crafts, corn hole and face painting. In addition to all the fun activities, this is a chance to find out what is going on in the area! Representatives from many organizations, businesses and Town departments will be on hand to share information on Town news, local happenings, volunteer opportunities and more.
This year, the Petting Zoo will be next to the RMHS track and the Touch-a-Truck zone will be in the RMHS Field House Parking Lot.
Residents of all ages will enjoy a full day of food, fun, giveaways, and demonstrations! When you need a break from all the excitement, head over for a snack at the Reading Lions Club Food Tent and enjoy some music at the Entertainment Stage.
Finally, come back at night for the Fireworks (9:00 pm), sponsored by the Friends of Reading Recreation.
Don’t miss this opportunity to share a great day with your neighbors and friends. For more information and a map of activities, please visit readinglionsclub.org.
