Dear Fellow Residents of Reading,

I’m writing in support of incumbent Karen Herrick forSelect Board. Her advocacy and support are essential elements of our town’s forward-looking adoption of sustainable practices, including enhancing our green spaces. Karen’s role in establishing Reading’s Community Garden at Mattera Conservation Area is an example of her leadership at the local and state levels. She was an ally of the project from the initial request for state funds through actually constructing the garden’s raised beds.

Karen was able to draw on the knowledge and experience she gained from her years of service on Select Board and town committees, the connections she’s developed with our elected State officials, and her unfailing energy and enthusiasm to collaborate with staff and volunteers. She continues to support the Community Garden as it expands to include additional garden plots, to provide space for community members to enjoy this resource, and to make us a greener community. Her focus on planning, problem-solving, and action benefits our community now and will in years to come, and her continuing leadership on the Select Board will help Reading remain a desirable place to live. I enthusiastically support Karen Herrick for reelection to the Select Board.
