Obituary: James A. Rempis, 74

October 28, 1947 – May 10, 2022

Attorney James A. Rempis, of Reading, MA, formerly of Arlington, MA, passed away on May 10, 2022. Jim was raised in Arlington and graduated from Arlington High School in 1964, Jim then graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1970. He then enlisted in the Air Force in 1971 as a Navigator and served during the Vietnam War with the highest rank of Captain. After his honorable discharge in 1976, Jim then decided to pursue a degree in Law. He attended and graduated Cum Laude from Suffolk Law School in 1979. From there, he taught a few courses at Suffolk Law for a couple of years, in addition to working at some law firms in the city of Boston and surrounding area. In 1985, Jim opened his own real estate law practice in Arlington, a very successful business, that he ran until he retired in 2015. Family came first, and opening his own practice to allow for the work/life balance was a no-brainer.

While Jim’s professional and educational life was quite impressive, it did not come close to the impressiveness and richness of his personal life. Jim met his beautiful wife, his true love, Debbie in December of 1981 at a function held at St Demetrios. Both knew very quickly they had found their other half. They welcomed their daughter Alexa in 1984. Jim was always active in church life. He was the GOYA basketball coach at St. Athanasios in Arlington for several years. Jim then served on the board at St. Demetrios for quite some time. He also assisted with the various musical productions held by the church. Jim knew everything about everything, quite literally. He could carry a conversation with everyone and speak at great length on a variety of topics. He always had a smile on his face, a twinkle in his eyes, and made everyone he spoke to feel important. He will be greatly missed.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife Deborah (Doulames) Rempis. Devoted father of Alexa Rempis. Loving brother of Andrew Rempis and his wife Deborah. Loving uncle of Alexander Rempis and David Rempis. Also survived by many relatives and friends.

Pleasant Cemetery. Late Veteran US Airforce.
