First of three community listening meetings slated for June 1

The Town of Reading will be hosting the first of three community listening meetings on June 1, 2016 at 7:00pm at the Coolidge Middle School. At the meeting, Town Manager Bob LeLacheur will discuss the financial challenges facing the town and town officials, will take input from the public, and answer questions.

Over the recent fiscal year 2017 budget development season, LeLacheur met with the Board of Selectmen and the Finance Committee to discuss the constraints facing the town in fiscal year 2018. Now that Town Meeting has approved the fiscal year 2017 budget, the Town Manager is taking a proactive approach to invite the community into discussions about the increasing pressures on present resources.

Subsequent meetings will take place on June 7 at 1:00pm at the Pleasant Street Center, and on June 16 at 7:00pm at the Parker Middle School. Town officials strongly encourage the public to attend one of these meetings and to share their opinions and ideas.
