School Committee to hear multiple reports

The Reading School Committee will hear several update reports at its meeting on Monday, May 23rd in the RMHS Library.  The first report will be an update on the new science curriculum that has been piloted in several elementary classrooms this year, and will be used widely next year.  The new curriculum better meets the new Massachusetts Department of Education frameworks.  The report will focus on gains that have been made in the classroom using the new curriculum and on the classroom experience.  This presentation should take about an hour

The second report will be an update about activity in the Special Education department and will focus on the the new parent driven CPACS.  The report will focus on parent/district partnerships and how they have improved the results for students across the district.  This report should take about 40 minutes.

All School Committee meetings are opened public comment is welcome.  The meeting will be seen live on RCTV channel 99 (Comcast) or 32 (Verizon).
