Obituary: David Thomas Goodemote, 75

August 19, 1950 – April 25, 2026

David Thomas Goodemote, 75, passed away on April 25, 2026. Born on August 19, 1950, in Olean, New York, David lived a life defined by intellect, devotion, and deep love for his family and faith.

David graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1972 with a degree in Environmental Engineering. He went on to build a meaningful career as an engineer, ultimately working at Massport at Boston Logan Airport, where he found great fulfillment alongside his colleagues. He forged many strong friendships and will be remembered fondly.

While attending college, David met Linda at neighboring Russell Sage College. It was love at first sight, and they were quickly engaged. They built a life and a family, and their 44-year marriage was a partnership rooted in love, faith, and shared purpose. Together, they taught Pre-Cana classes early in their marriage and remained deeply committed to their Catholic faith throughout their lives. Linda, who was truly the love of his life, predeceased him, and their enduring bond remained a defining part of David’s life story.

David was a devoted member of his church community where he found comfort, connection, and spiritual fulfillment. He will be remembered as a determined, thoughtful man with a wonderful sense of humor who brought warmth and laughter to those around him.

He is survived by his son, Luke Goodemote, and his wife, Meredith, of Lynnfield, along with their children, William, Georgia, and Mae; his daughter, Abby Goodemote, of Woburn, and her daughter, Isabella Saggese. He is also survived by his siblings Gary Goodemote, Patricia Titus, Suzanne Goodemote, Nancy Martinez, Mary Miller, and Margaret Goodemote. David was also predeceased by his parents, Joan and Neil Goodemote. In addition, he leaves behind his wife, Debra Monahan, whom he married earlier this year.

David’s life was marked by dedication—to his work, his faith, and above all to the people he loved. He will be deeply missed.
