Four local Chambers of Commerce, including the Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce, will join together to sponsor Local Eats Week to encourage diners to visit and support restaurants and businesses in six-member communities. The event will run from Thursday, March 2nd to Sunday, March 12th.
Sponsored by the Wakefield Lynnfield, Stoneham, Reading-North Reading, and Melrose Chambers of Commerce, Local Eats Week will provide an opportunity for local establishments to showcase their menus and introduce new culinary choices at prices that will attract existing and new customers who wish to explore the local dining scene. This year’s event will also encourage participation from non-food businesses through cross promotions and specials at area businesses and participating restaurants.
The Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce has invited all Reading and North Reading restaurants to participate. Several dining establishments, including Horseshoe Grille, Biltmore & Main, and Subway of Reading have already agreed to participate. Retailers such as The Hitching Post, Brissonte Gifts, and Home Décor will also offer promotions during Local Eats Week. A list of participating restaurants and their promotions will be added to the Chamber website, www.readingnreadingchamber.org as they join in the event. Residents are encouraged to check back regularly for details. Diners are also reminded to mention Local Eats Week before ordering.
The Reading Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1989 and merged with the North Reading Business Association to form the Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce in January 2000. The Chamber has nearly 200 members and provides them with networking, educational, and promotional opportunities. The Chamber is dedicated to its members’ success and encourages participation in Chamber programs and events.
