Kate Lipper-Garabedian Endorsed for 5th Middlesex State Senate by Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund

The Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund has endorsed Kate Lipper-Garabedian for election as 5th Middlesex State Senator, a credit to her commitment to the environment and climate action. Issues of environmental justice, public health, transportation, and energy policy are inextricably linked. Because of this, we need leaders at every level of government who will call for ambitious action.

“Kate Lipper-Garabedian has been a strong advocate for climate action, public transit, and investments that strengthen communities across Massachusetts,” said Casey Bowers, Executive Director of the Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund. “She understands that meeting our climate goals requires bold leadership, and we’re proud to endorse her for State Senate.”

“I am thrilled to receive the endorsement of the Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund, a state leader in advocating for and educating policymakers on the environmental and energy initiatives foundational to addressing our climate crisis,” said Kate Lipper-Garabedian. “During my six years as a State Representative, we have worked together on my Community Conversation series, toured offshore wind farms, and filed legislation to support the electrification transition and improve state energy programs that benefit our residents. I have been grateful for ELM’s partnership on our shared agenda of building toward a green future that is worthy of our children and grandchildren and am proud to have the ELM Action Fund’s support in this State Senate race.”

Lipper-Garabedian currently serves as State Representative for the 32nd Middlesex District, where she has been a reliable ally and sponsor in advancing environmental priorities. Prior to joining the Legislature, she served on the Melrose City Council and built a career in public service as a public school teacher, education attorney, and senior policy advisor. She has advocated for robust funding for the Department of Conservation and Recreation, helping protect and maintain our Commonwealth’s parks, trails, and open spaces. She has also played an important role in supporting Massachusetts’ emergence as a national leader in climatetech innovation, recognizing the economic and environmental benefits of accelerating clean energy technologies and workforce development.

Lipper-Garabedian’s priorities in the 2026 election include accelerating net-zero initiatives, reducing solid waste and single-use plastics, strengthening investments in clean transportation infrastructure, and advancing policies that support climate resilience and environmental justice. As State Senator, she will continue building on Massachusetts’ leadership by supporting practical, equitable climate solutions.
