WILMINGTON – State Representative Richard M. Haggerty (D-Woburn) recently joined fellow legislators at the North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters (NASRCC) legislative breakfast briefing at Carpenters Local 339 in Wilmington. The event focused on the organization’s legislative priorities as well as challenges and opportunities shaping the construction industry across the region.
“I was proud to join my colleagues to hear directly from the men and women of the Carpenters Union about the issues that matter most to them,” said Representative Haggerty. “The work they do in building our communities, training the next generation of skilled tradespeople, and advocating for fair wages and safe job sites is an important part of our region’s economy. I look forward to continuing to work alongside them to strengthen our construction workforce and create good-paying jobs right here in our communities.”
Hosted by the NASRCC, the breakfast briefing brought together legislators and staff from across the region. Attendees received an overview of the Carpenters’ highly regarded apprenticeship training program, a legislative briefing on key issues impacting workers in the construction industry, and an update on the state of the construction sector in the region.
The apprenticeship program, a cornerstone of the NASRCC’s mission, provides members with the hands-on skills and technical knowledge needed to succeed in today’s construction industry and to meet the growing demands of tomorrow’s workforce.
