Celebrating Chanukah 2024 with Temple Emmanuel of Wakefield

Wakefield, MA — Members of Temple Emmanuel with friends and family will be celebrating Chanukah, the Festival of Lights, for eight days, beginning on Thursday, December 25, to January 2nd. 

An early Chanukah celebration will be held this Friday, December 13 at 7 pm. Come join us for lighting Chanukah Menorahs and Shabbat candles! There will be a short Shabbat Celebration following in Weizmann Hall, then it’s LATKE time! Participants are encouraged to bring their menorahs and candles. It is a free event, and all are welcome. Nonperishable food donations for the Wakefield Food Pantry are welcomed and encouraged.

Sunday, December 22, from 10:30 to noon, there will be a Children’s Chanukah Festival with Games, Singing, Crafts, and Chanukah treats. The event is geared towards children ages 3 to 8.  Pre-registration is appreciated, but drop-ins are welcomed. HebrewSchool@wakefieldtemple.org.

Wakefield’s Public Menorah lighting on the Wakefield Upper Common will be on Sunday, December 29, at 6 pm. There will be latkes, donuts, goodies and singing. Together we will bring light.
