READING – Chief David Clark reports that the Reading Police Department arrested and charged a North Andover with operating under the influence.

CHRISTOPHER KIERCE, AGE 46, of NORTH ANDOVER, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Operating Under the Influence (Liquor)
  • Trespassing with Motor Vehicle

On Tuesday, April 30, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Reading Police responded to the area of Vine Street near High Street for a report of a motor vehicle that appeared parked on the train tracks.

Upon arrival, officers located an unoccupied black BMW that appeared to have driven over a gravel pit in a construction zone and was parked. The vehicle had been parked partially on train tracks, which are on Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority property. An MBTA train had to come to an emergency stop as a result.

Officers then searched the surrounding area in an attempt to locate the operator. The operator, KIERCE, was found near Middlesex Avenue about 1,000 feet from his vehicle.

KIERCE was arrested without incident. He was arraigned in Woburn District Court on Wednesday.

All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
