Obituary: John Daniel Rossetti, 79

September 20, 1944 – January 15, 2024

John Daniel Rossetti, a resident of Reading for 48 years, passed away on January 15, 2024, at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. He was 79 years of age. John was born in Elmira, New York on September 20, 1944, the son of the late Gerald F. and Mary E. (Hennessy) Rossettie.

John received his Bachelor’s degree in engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1966 and his MBA from University of Rochester in 1968. John worked as a manager at GE Aviation in Lynn, Massachusetts for over 3 decades. He enjoyed his retirement fishing across North and South America, golfing, playing with his beloved dog Duke, and rooting for the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Most of all, John cherished and enjoyed his family and five grandchildren.

John was the beloved husband of Jean M. (Cornelius) Rossettie. Devoted father of Ann M. Fernandes and her husband Tremain Fernandes of Framingham, Michael P. Rossettie of Auburn and Erin E. Rossettie and her husband Daniel B. Eidman of Stamford CT. Loving grandfather of Nicholas, Amelia, Mason, Emma and John Daniel. Cherished brother of Gerald Rossettie and his wife Carol Rossettie of Sands Point NY, Richard Rossettie and his wife Lori Rossettie of Corning, NY, Mary Rossettie and her husband Yehia Khalil of Glastonbury CT, Michael Rossettie and his wife Kathleen Rossettie, Lisa Schimizzi and her husband Joseph Schimizzi, Stephen Rossettie and his wife Vicki Rossettie all of Corning, NY, the late James Rossettie his late wife Patricia Rossettie and his surviving wife Janice Rossettie of Corning NY, the late Robert Rossettie and his wife Patrice Rossettie of Somerset , NJ and the the late J. Thomas Rossettie and his wife Theresa Rossettie of Corning NY.

A visitation will be held for John at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading on Friday January 19 from 4:00-6:00pm. His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Saturday January 20 at 9:30am followed by a Mass of Catholic Burial in St. Athanasius Church 300 Haverhill St. Reading at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Charles Lawn Cemetery in Reading.
