Northeast School of Ballet: The Nutcracker

Join Clara on her enchanting journey through a winter wonderland with her Nutcracker Prince to a Palace of Dancing Sweets. The traditional holiday classic features the talents of more than 100 local young dancers from the Northeast School of Ballet. NYB’s, The Nutcracker, is inspired by the original book, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King written in 1816.

Suburban Holiday 12

Location: QP Play House, 55 Hopkins St, Reading

The Quannapowitt Players are proud to present the 12th Annual “Suburban Holidays” from December 1-9! Suburban Holidays is a series of short, holiday-themed plays, many by local playwrights. This year’s set of plays is sure to delight.

Parker Tavern Hosts Holiday Open House

Location: 103 Washington Street

Celebrate both the holiday season and the 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, often considered by historians as the kickoff to the American Revolution. Period holiday decorations will adorn the downstairs rooms, thanks to the creative efforts of Reading Garden Club’s members. Visitors will enjoy inspiring yet natural displays of greenery, pineapples (the colonial symbol of hospitality), and various clove-studded fruit.

This holiday Open House is free and open to the public.

Reading Community Singers Holiday Concert

Location: Parker Middle School, 45 Temple Street

Their Annual Holiday Concert this year is entitled “Holiday Party.” They’ve been rehearsing for months a great mix of music that celebrates the season – Christmas, Hanukkah, Winter, Family – Classic and Modern Favorites, a Sing-Along, and even an Original Composition thrown in for good measure – it’s an enjoyable evening, and for some even a decades-long tradition – not to be missed!

Reading’s 2nd Annual Community Menorah Lighting

Location: Reading Common

Join neighbors and friends on the fourth night of Hanukkah for the 2nd Annual Menorah Community Menorah Lighting. The lighting is made possible by a partnership with Reading Community Singers, Reading Clergy Association, Whitelam Books, Reading Rotary, & Cato (Coalition of Us).
