Obituary: Richard Guild Louanis, 63

Richard Guild Louanis, of North Reading and formally of Reading, passed away on Wednesday, August 23rd, 2023, at the age of 63, with his loving family at his side. Born in Stoneham, he is the beloved son of the late John and Cynthia (Flood) Louanis.

Rich grew up in Reading and is a graduate of Reading Memorial High School. In his younger years, Rich played hockey, rode motorcycles, and skied. For many years, Rich worked as an electrician. As he started his own family, he coached his kids in their Pop Warner football league and Little league and taught his children to ski and skate. His commitment to his family continued as he shared his love of sports with his grandchildren, especially on Sundays when Rich would watch NASCAR with his grandson. An avid sports fan, you could always find him watching the Bruins, Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots.

You could find Rich working in his yard, watching the birds at his feeder, relaxing by the pool, or at the beach working on his tan. His greatest joy came from being with his children and grandchildren. Rich will be deeply missed by his loving family.

Rich is the devoted father of Richard Louanis and his wife Kristen, Matthew Louanis and Cynthia Louanis and her husband Matthew Thompson. Cherished grandfather of Kaylee, Ava, Matthew and Ashley. Beloved brother of David Louanis. He leaves nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St. (Corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) on Monday, August 28th, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m.

A Celebration of Richard’s Life will be held on Tuesday, August 29th, 2023, at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will follow in Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
