Alexander J. Coulter of Reading, formerly of Somerville, died on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the age of 88.
Beloved husband of Judith Coulter (Lovely, Maguire) with whom he shared almost 57 years of marriage. He was the devoted and loving father of the late Doreen Bona, who died in 2016, and cherished stepfather to Shawn Maguire and Mary Ellen Maguire Macri and her husband John Macri of Reading. Proud grandfather of Marc Bona of Gloucester, Scott Zaramba of Billerica, and Bryan Zaramba of Wisconsin. Loving son of the late Jane (Fahey) and Alexander A. Coulter. Alex is survived by his sister Mary Daly, brothers William and John Coulter, and sister Jane Passerini.
He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, and he retired from MITRE Corporation where he worked for 37 years.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2023, from 4-7 pm at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St., (corner of Woburn St.) READING. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Agnes Church 186 Woburn St., READING on Monday, August 21, 2023, at 10:30am. Interment will be at a later date.
