Seabrook, NH – Sally (Sarah Ann Jacobus) Liebermann of Seabrook, formerly of Reading and Groveland, MA, died peacefully at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, surrounded by loving family and friends.
The daughter of the late Peggy and Eddie Jacobus, Sally was raised in Reading. As a young adult, Sally worked for many years in the ski industry, then in social services and finally in Religious Education, where she spent most of her career at the Universalist Unitarian Church of Haverhill, then the Unitarian Universalist Church of Reading. She enjoyed being a celebrant and was known for her kindness and patience and dedication to social justice and community issues. Through her work, Sally strove for positive change and affected countless people.
Sally married Charlie Liebermann and they had two beloved sons, Luke of Adams, MA and Jess of Seabrook, NH., who were raised in Groveland. Though Sally and Charlie eventually divorced, they were undeniable soul mates and maintained a close and loving relationship to the end.
Sally leaves her dear sister, Marty Jacobus and her husband Michael Burke and grandniece Luna Grace of Newburyport; family matriarch, aunt Marilyn Morse and dear sister-cousin Cindy Chaves of Sunapee, NH; Hayley Gernert-Dott, partner of son Luke; sisters in-law, Fran Burke and Cheryl Spaulding; nieces and nephews, Nisha, Shani and Jake, Sampor, Lindsay, Ariana, Jordan and Adam, Sara and Kyle and their families. Sally will also be missed by many more cousins, friends, and colleagues.
The family wishes to thank the devoted members of “Sally’s Home Team:” Abbe, Carolyn, Cindy, Danielle, Fran and Lindsay for their loving care. We also wish to thank the nurses, caregivers, doctors and the angels in other departments at Anna Jaques Hospital, MGH Cancer Center, Tufts Health Care at Home and High Pointe Hospice House.
A service is planned for 11 am on July 1, 2023, at the UU Church of Haverhill, 15 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill, MA 01830.
