Into the Woods at Colonial Chorus Players

Reading, MA — For the first time in its 62-year history, Colonial Chorus Players of Reading is going Into the Woods. Tickets are now on sale for CCP’s production of the Stephen Sondheim modern masterpiece—and with a bold, fresh take on everything from staging to casting, and costumes to set design, this isn’t your Granny’s Into the Woods!

There will be three performances only May 5 and 6 at 7 PM and May 7 at 2 PM at Shepardson Hall at Parker Middle School, 45 Temple Street, Reading.

Cinderella’s Stepmother (Kristin Gillett, right) attempts to shield daughters Florinda (Heather Rotondi, left) and Lucinda (Katie Iafolla) from the dangers of the woods in Colonial Chorus Players’ production of Into the Woods May 5–7.

Into the Woods is directed by Corey Cadigan, with musical direction by Alan Freedman, both of whom are newcomers to CCP. “We’re excited to have Corey and Alan onboard,” says producer Jennifer Estabrooks. “They have brought both innovation and experience to this familiar musical, which we think will be very compelling to audiences.”

This production runs approximately three hours with one 15-minute intermission, and may contain content not suitable for all audiences.

Tickets are $30 for adults, and $25 for seniors and students. All seats are reserved seating.

Shepardson Hall is fully accessible and has accessible seating available for this production.

The two Princes (from left, Nate Haywood and Luke Sprenkle) commiserate over the status of their love lives in the farcical number Agony in Colonial Chorus Players’ production of Into the Woods May 5–7.
