August 9, 1956 – June 2, 2022
Winthrop “Win” Sargent Musgrave, age 65, of Reading MA, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2022, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Win was born on August 9, 1956, in Ipswich, MA to the late Robert Dale Musgrave and Natalie Sargent Perkins Musgrave. He was a graduate of Wells High School in Wells, Maine, class of 1974. Win spent his entire career at Gloucester Engineering Company/Davis Standard, a highly devoted employee of over 43 years.
Win’s greatest passion in life was spending time with his wife and daughters. Win’s favorite pastime was spent boating in Gloucester Harbor, along the Annisquam and Essex Rivers and on Rangeley Lake. Win loved both playing and watching sports, he was a die-hard Steelers fan, loved watching the Bruins with his daughters, playing golf with friends, and playing on his softball team. Win loved spending time with family in Rangeley. Win always had many home projects going at a time, he could fix anything, and he made the best steamed lobsters and boiled dinner. Win enjoyed relaxing with a good book, a Dunkin coffee in his hand, and Serena by his side.
Win was the beloved husband of Emilie (Friedman) Musgrave and the loving and very devoted father to his daughters Sarah Musgrave and Amy Musgrave. He was a much-loved son-in-law and brother-in-law, cherished uncle, and friend to so many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Our deep gratitude goes to the many caring health care professionals at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and the Kaplan Family Hospice House.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 9th, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, MA. His Graveside Service will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Spring Street Cemetery, Essex, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
