TOWN OF READING CONTRACT 22-16 INVITATION TO BID

Sealed Bids for the Town of Reading, Massachusetts, Replacement of Washington Street Sewer Pipe Renovation, will be received by www.bidnetdirect.com until 1:00 PM, March 3, 2022. 

The Base Bid work includes removal and disposal of existing sewer pipe and furnishing and installing approximately 450 linear feet of 12-inch polyvinyl chloride (PVC) sewer pipe. The Bid Alternate No. 1 work in Washington Street includes furnishing and installing approximately 1,900 linear feet of 15- and 20-inch cured-in-place pipe lining.  The Bid Alternate No. 2 work in Washington Street includes furnishing and installing approximately 150 linear feet of 18-inch polyvinyl chloride(PVC) sewer pipe.

Each Bid shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and shall be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount Bid. The successful Bidder must furnish a Payment Bond and Performance Bond satisfactory in form to the Town, from a surety authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and acceptable to the Town.

It is the responsibility of prospective proposers and or bidders to check that they have received all addenda.

Wage rates for this project are subject to the minimum wage rates as per M.G.L., Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27H inclusive, as amended. The bidding and award of this Contract will be under the provisions of M.G.L., Chapter 30, Section 39M, as amended.

Bids shall be awarded to the lowest responsible and eligible bidder offering the lowest price. The Town of Reading reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any and all bids, for any reason the Town Manager determines to be in the Town’s and/or the public’s best interest.
