Obituary: Russell J. Harron, 55

May 21, 1965 – May 6, 2021

Russell J. Harron was born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 21,1965. At the time of his death, he was a resident of Billerica, Massachusetts. Russ grew up in Reading, and graduated from Reading Memorial High School, class of 1983.

Russ passed away unexpectedly in a construction accident on Thursday May 6, 2021. He is the beloved son of Bill and Beverly (LaPierre) Harron. Russ is the brother of Stephen Harron and Cindy Harron Goddard, the father of John Rossman, Maxwell and Jayson Berry, the grandfather of John Jr and Beau Rossman and the uncle of Jim and Bill Goddard.

Russ will be remembered for his sense of humor, his acts of kindness, generosity towards others, and the love and devotion he had for his family.

Russ was an avid outdoorsman. He not only spent each work day outside in the field, as he was employed in tree removal services and the construction industry, most of Russ’s hobbies were also out of doors.

Russ enjoyed being in the mountains of New Hampshire and Maine and would travel north every chance he got. He loved snowmobiling and ice fishing in the winter and off-road ATV and motorcycle riding in the warmer weather. Most evenings after work you would find Russ fishing at a local waterhole, helping out a friend or family member, or sitting by his fire pit planning his next road trip north. The weekends for Russ were dedicated to watching Nascar racing or attending the races in person at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Loudon.

Russ will be deeply missed by his entire family, his friends, and coworkers. Because of the person Russ was, he left us with many fond and loving memories that will be cherished in his absence.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather for a Celebration of Life for Russ and share memories with Russ’ Family on Friday, May 21st from 4-6pm in the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Russ’ Family requests that guests do not wear any formal attire and dress casually for Russ’ Celebration as this is what he would have wanted.

At the request of Russ’ Family, please omit flowers and consider making donations in Russ’ memory to one of the causes dear to them, the New Hampshire off Highway Vehicle Association at www.nhohva.org, or the MSPCA at Nevins Farm at www.mspca.org.
