Obituary: Lucy (Pacillo) Carpenella, 101

Lucy (Pacillo) Carpenella, of Reading, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 18, 2020, surrounded by her family at her home. She was 101 years of age.

Born in East Boston, Lucy is the loving daughter of the late Antonio and Michelina (Maffeo) Pacillo.

Lucy worked at her family’s store, A. Pacillo Groceries, in Everett for many years. In addition, she owned a boutique store in Woburn. Always willing to work, Lucy obtained her real estate license and worked in the real estate industry for many years.

Lucy was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Lucy is the beloved wife of the late Felix Carpenella. Devoted mother of Anthony Carpenella, Felix Carpenella, Lucille Moulton, Paullette Carpenella, and Michael Carpenella. Loving grandmother of Roy Maurici, Alan, and Bret Carpenella. Great grandmother of Michael. Dear sister of the late Emma Bosco, Gilda Tamarro, Mildred Murphy, Dorothy Devico, Josephine Hade, Michael Pacillo, Marjorie Bertone, and Anthony Pacillo.

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Friday, October 23, 2020, in the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING from 11 am to 1 pm followed by a Graveside Service Celebrating Lucy’s Eternal Life at Woodlawn Cemetery 302 Elm St. Everett at 1:45 pm. Parking attendants and elevator available. Per MA regulations, face coverings must be worn while at the Funeral Home, and not more than 40% capacity will be allowed in at one time.
