Obituary: Carole C. Fotino, 84

Carole (Bemis) Fotino 84, of Reading, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 8th surrounded by the love of her family. She touched countless people and will be missed by all who knew her.

Born May 24, 1936, the daughter of Chandler and Isabel (Steele) Bemis. She was predeceased by her loving husband Richard and son William.

Carole was a graduate of Boston College and Fitchburg State College and worked as a nurse and a teacher for many years. A Reading resident for the past 58 years, she was active in her children’s activities including scouting, sports, and Sunday school. She was an avid reader with a keen mind who enjoyed time at home with her family.

Carole is survived by her children Richard Fotino Jr. and wife Renee of Dunstable, Robert Fotino and wife Karen of Stoneham, Ronald Fotino and wife Karen of Reading, Carole Ramsay, and husband David of CO, Andrew Fotino and wife Jeanine of Reading, Elaine Nichols and husband Toby of NC. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several sisters in law and cousins

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St., Reading on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.  Burial is private.
