Reading Police Officers Honored at Annual AAA Awards Dinner

Members of The Reading Police Department were recently honored at the regional AAA Awards Dinner. Many Northeastern Massachusetts Police Departments were in attendance at this gala event, located at the Burlington Marriot. Reading Police Officers in attendance included; Deputy Chief David Clark, Lt. Christine Amendola, Traffic and Safety Officer David Savio, and Officer Timothy Barrett.

Officer Timothy Barrett was named the AAA Traffic Safety Hero of the Year. This prestigious honor was based on his tenacious attention to traffic violations. Officer Barrett conducted over 360 traffic stops in 2016, educating drivers and keeping the roads of Reading safe.

Traffic and Safety Officer David Savio was issued the AAA Gold Award for a complete traffic safety plan, diverse in traffic safety programs. This is the fourth year in a row the Reading Police Department has received the highest honor (Gold), for the completeness in traffic safety programs.
