Tom Zaya talks fall sports
Fall is here! Time to prepare for another season of athletic events at Reading Memorial High School, under the direction of Assistant Principal and Director of Athletics & Student Services, Tom Zaya.
Tom has a long history in town, graduating from Reading Memorial High School class of 1987, where he played both baseball and soccer. Tom has worked in several capacities throughout his tenure in Reading, including Wellness Director at RMHS, and teaching physical education at Parker Middle School. You could also find Tom on the soccer and baseball fields, coaching at the JV and Varsity levels.
In 2012, he became the new Athletic Director at RMHS, taking over for the retired Phil Vaccaro. It’s a job that Zaya has thoroughly enjoyed for the past 5 years.
“It’s a fun, challenging, busy experience every day. It is always great dealing with many students, but it’s also awesome to have such a great staff.”
You can always find Tom at RMHS, and at many of the events this upcoming fall season.
