READING, MA – The Town of Reading announces the launch of its new municipal website this week, as part of an ongoing effort to improve communications with the public across multiple channels.
The new site offers responsive design to enable better viewing on mobile devices. The site also features increased functionality including bill paying, community alert sign-ups, problem reporting through SeeClickFix, maps, employment, financial updates, construction updates, and much more.
“The updated website and social media platforms further Reading in its goals to make town government more accessible and interactive,” said Reading Town Manager Bob LeLacheur. “I encourage citizens and businesses to visit the new website, and welcome suggestions as to what types of information they would like to see there.”
The Town also launched two new social media accounts this week with a Facebook page Facebook.com/ReadingGov and Twitter account @TownofReadingMa. Residents, businesses and organizations are invited to view and follow the new social media sites. These accounts expand the town’s existing social media presence, already enhanced by the Reading Police Department, Reading Recreation Division, Public Library, and Reading Municipal Light Department. Links to all social media accounts are accessible from the new site.
The new website was collaborative effort across all town departments. Virtual Towns & Schools served as Reading’s chief designer.
