William (Bud) Hayes Black, Jr, of Reading, MA, passed away on September 25, 2021, peacefully at home with his family by his side.
Born in Boston, MA., a proud Navy veteran serving on the USS Fiske and the USS Gainard. Bud was a successful building engineer, managing office buildings in downtown Boston for more than 30 years.
Loving and faithful husband of 52 years to Cynthia A. Black. Proud father of Brian H. Black, Sarah E. Black, and longtime fiancé Dennis B. Kelley. All of Reading, MA. Brother of the late Robert L. Black of Boston, MA., and of the late Charles Black of Derry, NH. Proud grandfather to his grand dogs Everett Jay and Collins Jo. Loyal friend to the late Robert and his wife Diane Dresser of Reading, MA., John Maguire of Stoneham, MA., and longtime co-worker of Jose Tobar of East Boston, MA.
Funeral services will be held privately. A happy hour celebration of Bud’s life and family will be held at The Horseshoe Grille at 226 Main Street, North Reading, MA on Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 2 pm – 4 pm, all are welcomed.
