Reading, MA — Older adults and people with disabilities have a new option for a healthy meal. Mystic Valley Aging Services (MVAS) has a new catering partner, City Fresh Foods, for the communities of Medford, North Reading, Reading, Stoneham, and Wakefield.

For over five years, Mystic Valley Aging Services has successfully partnered with City Fresh Foods in other towns and cities. MVAS expanded the partnership, and City Fresh Foods now serves as caterer for all of MVAS’ Meals on Wheels and community dining programs. The partnership expands meal variety and offers consumers a high-quality, nutritious menu.

“We’re excited to partner with City Fresh Foods and introduce a new option for healthy, nourishing meals,” said Carla Matute, MVAS Director of Nutrition. “City Fresh focuses on quality and variety, helping us meet the health needs and cultural preferences of the communities we serve.”

City Fresh Foods is a Boston-based, employee-owned food service company that specializes in preparing meals for older adults, schools, healthcare organizations, and community programs. Since 1994, the minority-owned catering company has committed to providing high-quality, thoughtfully prepared meals that support health, wellness, and independence.

MVAS continues to coordinate and deliver Meals on Wheels, operate meal sites at senior centers and other community locations, and maintain existing eligibility requirements and delivery schedules. MVAS’ Registered Dietitian ensures every menu meets nutritional standards, including meals recommended by a resident’s doctor, such as low-carbohydrate and heart-healthy menus.
