Explore Games and Play at the Reading Public Library

Fall programs include puzzle races, Marvel trivia, Pokémon Club, and opportunities to borrow games and equipment from the Library

Reading Public Library (RPL), Reading, MA — This fall, discover some of the Library’s programs and spaces where you can gather to relax and play with friends and family.

New this year, on November 18, Puzzle Races! Is your strategy borders-first or inside-first? Do you organize by piece shape or color? Gather a team of up to four players and race the clock and other teams to complete your puzzle first—there are prizes! You can hone your skills or freshen up your home selection at our Community Puzzle and Game Swap on November 7 (donate your puzzles or games Oct. 31–Nov. 6).

From Iron Man to Avengers: Doomsday, test your superhero knowledge powers at Marvel Cinematic Universe Trivia on November 19. Play solo or with a team (up to 6 people).

Calling all Pokémon fans in grades 1–5! Meet up and talk about all things Pokémon at the November 18 Pokémon Club. This is a great space to play games, trade cards, make crafts, and more.

Did you know you can borrow games from the Library of Things—from Mah-Jongg Sets to Nintendo Switch and Oculus Virtual Reality Headsets? If you’re hosting a game night, borrow a Karaoke Speaker or vinyl turntable for a background beat. Next time you’re in the Library, check out the jigsaw puzzle station in the Reading Room, or pick a board game from the Studio shelves; we have lots of options to indulge your sense of fun.
