READING, MA – Each year on September 22nd, National Centenarian Day is celebrated to honor the remarkable lives, histories, and wisdom of individuals who are 100 or older.
The Residence at Pearl Street, a senior living community in Reading, is proud to be home to four remarkable individuals who have reached the incredible centenarian milestone: Ron (100), Stan (101), Louise (101), and Edna (103).
In September of 2026, Stan Clark celebrated his 101st birthday surrounded by loved ones. Stan is a proud U.S. Navy veteran who has been recognized for his courageous service by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Veterans Affairs. At 101 years old, Stan continues to live his life always smiling and sharing his positive energy with those around him.
Ron Winslow, a U.S. Army Veteran, celebrated his 100th birthday in January of 2026. Ron is a lifetime Reading resident with a remarkable history of service and community involvement. For over 25 years, Ron served as the Assistant Superintendent of the Reading Public Schools system. He also owned Winslow’s, a beloved variety store on Haven Street, served both on the Reading Board of Selectmen and on the Finance Committee, and dedicated 30 years as a Town Meeting Member. Ron also has a deep love for music – he was a songwriter, played trumpet as a member of the Lakeside Concert Band for more than 40 years, and is now part of the Resident Chorus Group at The Residence at Pearl Street.
Alongside Stan and Ron, Louise and Edna are two very special residents part of the amazing centenarian group. Louise celebrated her 101st birthday in December of 2025, and is described as sweet, genuine, resilient, and humble. Edna celebrated her 103rd birthday in July of 2026. She is known for her quick wit and infectious joy.
