Wakefield, MA — The congregation of Temple Emmanuel is excited to announce several events this month that the community is invited to attend including a Community Open House on Sunday, September 15th from 2 to 4 pm. During the summer, the sanctuary has been renovated with new carpeting, chairs, and updated technology. Several improvements were designed to create to be hospitable, accessible, and inclusive.
Jonah Twisters will bring immense joy and happiness to folks of all ages. Faces will light up as his creativity brings his balloons into hats, animals, bracelets, and more.There will be refreshements for adults as well as creating your own sundae for the kids and the young at heart.
CHAI SCHOOL registration for our Tuesday classes has begun with classes beginning on Sept. 17th. All students ages 5 to 13 are welcomed, regardless of religious practices, prior knowledge or family affiliation. Morah Brenda Dolan and Rabbi Greg Hersh have planned an exciting curriculum with individual attention, experiential projects, and spirite holiday fun throughout the year. Classes meet once a week for 1.5 hours.
TOT SHABBATS are held on the first Saturday morning of the month from 9:30 to 10:15am. From newborns through elementary school, all children and their families are welcome to sing, dance, play, and eat holiday themed foods.
SISTERHOOD Kick OFF is on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 11:30am. There will be a vegetarian and dairy brunch. Our guest speaker is author Barbara Vinick who will introduce us to her book, 100 Jewish Brides: Stories from Around the World. Attendees encouraged to bring their family wedding photos and interesting artifacts. Members free, visitors $10. RSVP by Sept. 16th to shochberg.sh@gmail.com
