READING, MA – In a letter sent to clients, Doctor Jane L. Harrison, owner of Middlesex Animal Hospital, announced her retirement is permanently closing the business on December 31, 2023. Harrison recommends clients transition pet care to Reading Animal Clinic.
Dear Pet Owners,
After over 35 years of practicing veterinary medicine (2/3rds of those years in downtown Reading), it is with mixed emotions that I announce my retirement and closing of Middlesex Animal Hospital. I will no longer see patients after Thanksgiving Day and hours thereafter will be limited until the hospital officially closes on 12/31/23.
My main focus at this time is to ensure a smooth transition for you and your pet. I highly recommend Reading Animal Clinic, which is located right up Main Street from us, with convenient parking. Dr. Beth Shurland and her team practice the same quality of medicine you are accustomed to. They are a six-doctor practice and have availability to see your pets in their time of need. You may even see some familiar faces join their team.
If you would like to become a client of Reading Animal Clinic, please fill out a new client form on their website www.readinganimalclinic.com. Look for the “NEW CLIENTS” tab. In this drop down is the online form. A representative will reach out to you shortly to complete your account and make an appointment for your pet. If you have any trouble, feel free to give them a call at 781-944-1699 and they will be happy to assist you
If you would rather have your medical records personally, you can call us or request them at info@middlesexanimalhospital.com. Once we are closed, your records will be available at Reading Animal Clinic. Please keep in mind that if your pet needs to have refills or be prescribed medications, an office visit with a veterinarian is required first to establish a patient/doctor relationship in accordance with veterinary medicine industry standards.
