Carol Ann Shattuck, beloved wife of Ron Boben, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Born in Medford, she is the beloved daughter of the late Arthur and Helen (Quinlan) Killion.
Carol grew up in Malden and is a graduate of Girls Catholic High School, class of 1961. She settled in Reading and lovingly raised her two sons. Carol took great pride in her career. Her hard-working nature, attention to detail and enthusiasm allowed her to excel at her job. Her successful career in purchasing aided in the growth of several retail companies, including Marshalls, Bobs Stores, and the Christmas Tree Shops.
Carol enjoyed an active lifestyle. She practiced Tai Chi and Zumba to stay physically fit. She exercised her mind by participating in book clubs and investment groups. She loved to travel and to take walks with her husband. She gave back to her community by volunteering at the Reading Senior Center. She was a talented artist and painter. Carol loved sharing these activities and she passed on many of her interests and talents to her friends and family. Above all else Carol’s greatest joy in life came from spending time with her grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by her adoring family and her many friends.
In addition to being the loving wife and partner of 40 years to Ron, she is the devoted mother of Michael Shattuck and his wife Michelle of Andover, Massachusetts and Steven Shattuck and his significant other Tara Brock of Midland Park, New Jersey. Cherished grandmother of Matthew Donahue, Meredith, Madison, Kyle, Olivia and Amanda Shattuck, Sydney and Avery Klimaytis, and Hannah Boben. Loving sister of the late Arthur Killion, Jr. and the late Gerald Killion. Beloved mother-in-law of Meryl Shattuck and stepmother of Kathleen Boben of Salt Lake City, Kristen Klimaytis of Cumberland, Maine and Ronald Boben of Randolph, Massachusetts. She is also the aunt to many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are cordially invited to join with Carol’s family for visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading (Corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) on Saturday, February 11th, 2023 from 10am to 12pm. A Memorial Service will be celebrated immediately following the visitation at 12pm.
Interment will be held privately.
