Obituary: Charles L. “Crazy Charlie” Dyer, 82

November 2, 1940 ~ November 13, 2022

Charles L. Dyer, “Crazy Charlie,” age 82, of Reading, passed away unexpectedly on November 13, 2022. 

Charlie was born on November 2, 1940, in Worcester, MA; he was the son of the late Lawrence and Rachel (Holmes) Dyer. Charlie was raised and educated in Everett. 

Charlie loved people and making new friends; he worked for several places throughout his life, but he was most known at the flea markets, especially Lynn and Revere.  Charlie also worked as a tow truck driver at Cris’s Towing. 

Charlie will be remembered for his carefree spirit and living his life to the fullest.  He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren. 

Charlie was the loving father of Crystal Matthews of Reading, the late Lisa Marie White, and the late Kelly Ann Hartley & her husband David of North Reading, “Grandpa Droopy” of Demetrius, Amanda, Robbie, Katelyn, CJ, and the late Lee Matthews.  Charlie was the dear brother of Terry Nardone Chisholm & her husband Lester of Wilmington, the late Larry Dyer & his wife Claudine, the late Carl Dyer & his wife Judy and the late Donald Dyer & his wife Mariette.  He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Sunday, November 20th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Charlie’s name may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA  02114.
