Loretta E. Cavagnaro (Laurie) of Reading, Massachusetts, and Boca Raton, Florida, formerly of Somerville, passed away on May 9, 2020. She was 74 years old.
Laurie was the beloved wife of Robert A. Cavagnaro. She was the devoted mother of Christine M. Kelley and her husband Timothy of Reading and Lori Foley and her husband Kenneth of North Reading. Loving Mimi of Betsy, Mary Kate and TJ Kelley, Robert, Allison, Emily, and Julia Foley. She also leaves family members Barbara Kelley of Reading, Helen Reynolds Brady of Wilmington, and Ann and Jim O’Neil and Jane and Frank Fantasia of Winchester. She was also the beloved aunt of many.
Laurie was raised in Somerville, the daughter of the late Alton and Loretta Reynolds. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Reynolds.
Laurie was raised in Somerville where she met and married Bob. She raised her daughters in Reading. She was a long-time employee of the Reading Municipal Light Company, where she served as Customer Service Manager. She was an active community volunteer in Reading. She was a Past President of Reading Rotary, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, and was very involved at St. Agnes Church. She was proud to have gone back to school as an adult and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Emmanuel College at night while working full time. She was also honored as Reading’s Person of the Year by the RNR Chamber.
Laurie loved spending summers at her Hampton Beach beach house with her family. She enjoyed wintering in Florida with Bob, vacationing in Aruba, and traveling in general. She was especially proud of her daughters and grandchildren and their accomplishments. She loved to talk and make friends and was exceptionally good at staying connected to her many, many friends.
Due to the pandemic, a memorial celebration will be held in Laurie’s honor at a later date to be determined.
