Mr. Robert W. LeLacheur
Town Hall
16 Lowell Street
Reading, MA 01867

On behalf of the Board of Governors and the entire membership of Meadow Brook Golf Club, I am writing to express our sincere appreciation for the professionalism and bravery of the Town’s first responders. We are so grateful that no one was injured in the line of duty and that so many other communities sent resources to support Reading in battling this 3-alarm fire. From the first 911 phone call issued by our neighbor and member of the Reading Police force to the front-line firefighters and investigators, the building inspector, and police engaged in crowd control, we couldn’t have asked for better support from our public services.

It is also important to note that the selflessness of first responders we witnessed on April 17th unfolded amidst a backdrop of the COVID pandemic. We recognize and applaud these dedicated town employees who are always there when someone is in need. While the impact of this fire is devasting, we are resolved to collect photos and memories to help preserve the 122-year history of the club while we rebuild and move forward in service to our members and the community at large.

Sincerely,

Sally Mason Boemer
