Board of Health Orders Closures to Prevent Spread of Covid-19
Reading, MA -– Per order of the Board of Health, in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19, ALL Town basketball courts, tennis courts, playgrounds, and athletic fields/ complexes will remain closed. Studies have shown that the virus can live on surfaces for several days creating a potential health risk since the Town does not disinfect these types of facilities.
PARKS AND TRAILS WILL REMAIN OPEN SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Families are welcome to play in the parks (not in playgrounds) and use trails, but please do not engage in sports or activities that require physical or shared contact.
- Practice social distancing and keep a 6-foot distance from others while playing in parks and using trails.
- Wash your hands frequently.
This is a very difficult and stressful time, but we are a strong community, and by staying positive and working to support each other, we will get through this together.
