Korean Veterans to be Awarded Korean Ambassador for Peace Medal

65 years ago, the Korean Armistice Agreement was signed which brought about a complete cessation of hostilities of the Korean War. Over 36,000 Americans were killed during the conflict. Over 100,000 were wounded and there are still over 8,100 missing in action. The Republic of Korea government has not forgotten the service and sacrifices made by the brave men and women who answered the call to duty. On Saturday, September 22, 11:00 AM at the Parker Middle School, Mr. Yonghyon Kim, the Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Boston will personally award the Ambassador for Peace Medal to local residents who served in Korea. This medal is an expression of appreciation from the Korean government to American servicemen and women who served in the Korean War. Everyone is welcome to attend the ceremony to help honor these true American Heroes.
