On Thursday, March 23, the Mandarin Restaurant in Reading will host “Dine to Donate” for the benefit of the Reading Scholarship Foundation. On that date the restaurant will donate 20% of all food and beverage purchases made by supporters of the Foundation. Supporters who wish to make sure that their donation is credited to the fundraiser are asked to take a voucher that will be available at the restaurant on the day of the fundraiser. This voucher can be given to the server, or at the front desk on the day of the fundraiser if the order is a takeout order. The Foundation thanks the community for its support of the Foundation’s mission.
Founded in 1969, the Reading Scholarship Foundation was started by a group of local business and community leaders. The Reading Scholarship Foundation provides financial assistance, primarily based on need, to selected Reading, MA students who are continuing their education beyond secondary level. The Board of Directors is made up entirely of volunteers. Since 1969, the Reading Scholarship Foundation has given $3,478,081 to 5,019 Reading students pursuing a college education.
