The Residence at Pearl Street Residents Visit Whitelam Books As Part Of “Our Town, Our Neighbors” Series

Monthly Community Program Connects Residents With Local Businesses And The People And History That Make Reading Special

READING, MA — The Residence at Pearl Street held its second “Our Town, Our Neighbors” event, a monthly series created to connect with local businesses and learn more about the people and history that make Reading so special.

The visit brought residents to Whitelam Books, a charming independent bookstore in downtown Reading.

“The shop is not only filled with an amazing selection of books, but it is also beautifully designed and completely accessible for our residents,” said Beverly Curry, Resident Engagement Director at The Residence at Pearl Street. “A massive thank you to the welcoming and gracious store owner, Liz, and her team, who took the time to share the rich history of her business. Our residents absolutely loved her presentation!”

Each resident chose a book to bring back and add to The Residence at Pearl Street’s newly renovated community library, a special touch that will always be a nice reminder of the connection made with Whitelam Books.
