Reading, MA — Medicare beneficiaries can take steps to save on prescription costs by comparing Medicare Part D plans during Annual Open Enrollment, October 15–December 7.
In addition to comparing plans, Medicare beneficiaries can discuss generic options with their doctor, consider mail-order pharmacies, look into patient assistance programs offered by drug manufacturers, and explore prescription discount programs such as GoodRx.
Through the Medicare.gov Plan Finder, users can compare available plans, view plan summary documents, and review drug formularies.
People who wish to speak with a SHINE counselor during Annual Open Enrollment should contact the Pleasant Street Center to schedule an appointment toward the end of September. Appointments can be scheduled no earlier than September 14, 2026, by calling 781-942-6794.
