Wakefield Jewish Festival Returns for a Major Celebration of Culture, Tradition and Community

Hundreds Expected on the Wakefield Town Common for an Unforgettable Afternoon of Music, Food and Family Fun

Wakefield, MA — The Wakefield Town Common will come alive with music, culture and celebration as the Wakefield Jewish Festival returns on Sunday, August 23, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Following last year’s tremendous success, which attracted more than 500 people, this year’s festival promises to be even bigger. Families and individuals from Wakefield and surrounding communities are invited to experience a vibrant afternoon showcasing the beauty, energy and richness of Jewish tradition and culture.

Presented by Chabad of Wakefield, the festival is open to everyone, regardless of background or affiliation.

“This is more than a Jewish event. It is a community-wide celebration,” said Rabbi Sruly Brook, co-director of Chabad of Wakefield. “It is an opportunity for people of every background to come together and experience the warmth, joy and spirit of Jewish culture. Last year’s turnout showed us how much the community embraced this festival, and we are excited to make this year’s celebration even greater.”

The festival will feature live entertainment by Itay Dayan and his band, performing lively Jewish-themed music on the Town Common. A kosher food truck will travel from New York City to serve authentic favorites, alongside children’s activities, local artisans, vendors and cultural experiences for all ages.

For many who attended last year, the festival became one of the most memorable community events of the summer.

“Last year’s Jewish Festival was absolutely beautiful,” said Wakefield resident Stefanie Goodman. “There was such a wonderful feeling of warmth and togetherness. People of every age and background were enjoying the music, food and atmosphere. It truly felt like the entire community was celebrating together, and I cannot wait to experience it again this year.”

Organizers say the festival is designed to be joyful, welcoming and accessible, offering everyone an opportunity to experience Jewish music, food, tradition and culture.

“This festival is about celebrating who we are while opening our doors to everyone around us,” Rabbi Brook said. “We want every person who walks onto the Common to feel welcome and leave feeling uplifted.”
