Reading, MA – Jean Kristine (Rybak) Serwacki, 75, of Reading, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with frontotemporal dementia.
In her lifetime, Jean could be defined by several roles she loved: Teacher. Musician. Friend. Sister. And most importantly to her, Mother. She found her greatest joy in spending time with family and friends, and her dining room table was always a gathering place for games, laughter, and love. In her free time, she enjoyed taking long walks in nature, attending concerts, and caring for her beloved pets-both those who lived in her home and the many woodland creatures that crossed her path.
Jean is survived by her loving children, Chris Serwacki (Chad Kingsbury) and Alyson Serwacki (Ryan Lavoie); her cherished granddaughter, Madelyn; her siblings, Susan Noon (Bernie), Kathy Rybak (Kevin Malone), Kenny Rybak (Kathleen), Erin Bitler (Mike), and Kevin Rybak; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Catherine (Doherty) Rybak.
A celebration of Jean’s life will be held on July 26th. In place of flowers, the family welcomes donations in her memory to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration at theaftd.org.
